Android Nougat to possibly allow porting from iOS to Android OS
A user on Reddit did a full factory reset on the Huawei made Nexus 6P and after this operation, he discovered that here was a new feature that had been added to his stock Android experience – the option to port from the iOS platform to Android, or not? We know that this feature has been around on some Android devices like those made by HTC and Samsung but this would be the first time that such would show up on stock android.
What is news is not the fact that we saw this kind of option on the Nexus 6P but because we saw it on one that had started to run the Nougat. This brings questions to mind of whether it is a new feature that has been embedded into the Nougat software. This then contains a link that would take you to a website where there are explicit instructions on how to bring your stuffs over from iOS to Android. This means that the migration tool might not really be a tool and from what we have seen, email details and text messages are not part of the transferable data over Wi-Fi or OTG cable.
In all, this could just be a simple data migrating tool between platforms and again, it might just be a placeholder from Google for a feature that is supposed to come with subsequent updates.
