Apple files patent for self-healing coating: Unscratchable iPhone 6?
The LG G Flex was known for two great techs: One is of a screen made from flexible material; Another is that it has a body that can ‘heal’ itself after an encounter with a rough object.
Apple has filed a patent at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which sees a self-healing coating that flows and fills in scratches, a coating that is so slick, objects slide off it, and tiny, convex bumps moulded directly onto the glass to absorb scratches.
The technology behind this patent might let us see an iPhone 6 with an unscratchable screen, as ‘glass’ is one word that was used all over the patent’s description.
While Apple is at that, Samsung has borrowed a leaf from Sony’s waterproof devices, and made their latest Galaxy S5 dust and waterproof certified.
