Apple iPhone 7 (Matte Black) users complaining of chipping
When the iPhone 7 units first launched, a lot of people were excited with the Black colour options. The iPhone 7 came with two black finishes from the manufacturers table, and they were the Jet Black and Matte Black options. Now though, it seems that one of the black options is an undoing of Apple.
Over the last couple of days, there has been a particular thread of discussion that is gaining more traction by the hour on the Apple Community, and it is directed towards what seems to be the propensity of the Matte Black iPhone 7 to chip.
Most of the users say that they have been using their units in a case, but that doesn’t seem to stop them from chipping off. The majority users also stated that the chips were from beside one of the speaker vents that is gently placed on the bottom of every iPhone 7 handset.
This could be easily explained, or we might need much more comprehensive answer from Apple themselves in the end. It could be that the paint used to coat the unit was not made to withstand the oils from our skin, and a reaction caused the paint there to chip off. Otherwise, we would have to hear what Apple says when they finally comment on the issue.
