Blackberry could be purchased by Xiaomi — report
Amid improving finances witnessed in recent spreadsheets, Canadian phone maker Blackberry is reportedly being eyed by three to four companies. From time to time, investors take interest in companies whose future are predicted to be good and BlackBerry seems to be doing very well as one.
Xiaomi and Microsoft are among the companies with huge crush for the Passport producer. Coming off the heels of adding Motorola to their portfolio, another Chinese phone maker, Lenovo, is reportedly in the race while Huawei are said to be interested as well.
Firstly, Microsoft, having purchased Nokia, is currently working on restructuring what’s left of the former phone giant. Adding another huge acquisition isn’t plausible for the United States software outfit.
On the other hand, we can’t really access how structured Huawei is at the moment to buy a multi-billion-dollar company but Xiaomi, after their new $40 billion valuation , looks to be in a better position to come and get BB since many OEMs are now looking for a cheap-costly pattern of business these days. Xiaomi, being the cheaper brand, could make BB it’s personal hub for slinging premium “costly” devices, if an acquisition goes through.
