Gionee’s Elife E8 and Marathon M5 officially announced – flagship smartphones worth checking out
Gionee’s most recent product announcement held in Beijing 2 days ago featured the company’s latest flagship smartphones – the Elife E8 and the Marathon M5.
The Gionee Elife E8 zooms in on photography as its selling point with a 24MP primary cam, which could very well be the highest pixel rating one can find these days among competing smartphones in the market. According to experts, the Elife E8 can even come up with images of up to 120MP resolution by employing software tweaks. The Elife E8’s cam has rapid phase detection autofocus, a six-element lens, optical image stabilization, and comes to life through fast-launching cam apps. As for its flagship specs, expect to find monster ratings like a 2 GHz octa-core processor on a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, and an internal storage of 64 GB.
The Gionee Marathon M5, on the other hand, puts focus on addressing every smartphone user’s perennial problem – battery life. With this in mind, Gionee loaded up their M5 with a pair of 3,010 mAh batteries, had it come with background app management software, utilized dual-charging chips, and made sure that the unit supports fast charging. The rest of the M5 is pretty much standard for a device at its level: 5.5-inch display (AMOLED, 720p), 2 GB RAM, dual SIM slots, microSD expansion card slot, and a 16 GB internal storage among others.
The Marathon M5 will be available for purchase beginning June 25 for around $370, while the Elife E8 will sell for $645 starting July 15.
