Google launches 2014 Nexus 6 by Motorola
Google has unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop today, and of course, there will be a smartphone to be standard role models for all other smartphones who would like to run the OS; And there’s the answer — the Motorola-made Nexus 6.
The Nexus 6 (or simply the Nexus X, or even the 2014 Google Nexus) isn’t just a smartphone, it’s a phablet, and phablets are know for being massive, you know. The phone comes with an AMOLED 6-inch (exactly 5.96″) display that has a Quad HD resolution, totaling at a 493 PPI score.
Inside, the 2014 Nexus is a real beast. It features the latest Snapdragon 805 processor made by Qualcomm, that’s complete with a 2.7GHz-clocked quad-core CPU and an Adreno 420 graphics processor. The device comes with 3 gigabytes of RAM and is shipped with either 132GB or 64GB storage.
For pictures, the camera on this smartphone screams three words. That’s right — OPTICAL IMAGE STABILIZATION. The 13-megapixel sensor at the back of this monster can record pictures and videos in OIS. And oh, there’s a dual-tone LED flash at the back also to aid with scene lightening when taking photos or for torchlight. The front side is adorned by a 2MP selfie unit.
Powering the latest Nexus is a 3220mAh battery which Google claims can last 330 hours on standby. The Android 5.0 system already provides the device a lasting battery insurance plus the user can swap out the battery anytime as the back cover is user removable.
After hearing all that, you must be wondering by now how much the product will cost. Well, hear this: You’ll be paying $649 only for the 32GB version of this phone and the price-tag for the 64GB Nexus 6 hasn’t been made known.
Google will begin accepting orders on October 29th while shipping they say, will start sometime in November.
