HTC Lessen the Production of Virtual Reality Unit
The Taiwanese based Smartphone manufacturer HTC now turning its blossoming virtual reality business into separate company giving it a full control, this was stated by the company Chairwoman Cher Wang during the Nikkei Asian Review.
The chairwoman was speaking after recent reports that HTC set up separate virtual reality Facility that solely focused on the production. When asked if there was plan for new company to go public, Wang stated that the company has no plan of moving as to this moment and remain silent about the further information about the statement.
The Taiwanese based tycoon made statement on sidelines of summit on the big event attended by the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and the global business leaders in western Chinese.
Troubled Taiwanese based company betting its expectations on the virtual reality business. HTC just started its shipping on the first batch of virtual reality headgear known as HTC Vive last month, but analysts had doubts that budding venture could possibly turn around the company.
For the record, last year, HTC lost almost 15.53 billion. The company’s losses in first quarter were also reported. Speculation about HTC’s plan to spin its virtual reality unit hinted possibility this month.
