Huawei strongly tipped to produce next Nexus smartphone
After the first round of rumors circulated on the media that a Chinese manufacturer will partner with Google to produce this year’s Google Nexus smartphone, a lot of questions were on people’s mouth. Could it be Xiaomi, Lenovo, Huawei or even Meizu that is being talked about?
Now, we’ve gotten substantial evidence that Huawei is indeed the chosen “Chinese manufacturer” as an industry insider reveals to us that Google is in final talks with the phone maker over production of the next Nexus phone which would likely go official with Android 6.0.
The director of a local research firm in Mainland China named iSuppli, Kevin Yang, says that Huawei is definitely the company behind this year’s Nexus but declined giving out any specs or characteristics of the device. While we are still at it, Yang did not reveal whether the device being talked about is a handset or not, so the possibility of a Nexus tablet by Huawei is still not ruled out.
