India dials BlackBerry Classic for 31,990 rupees
BlackBerry’s latest smartphone has been launched in India. The BlackBerry Classic is a combination of the pre-2011 BlackBerry physical design — complete with trackpad and full QWERTY keyboard — with BB’s latest BB10 OS.
For specs, the Classic features a 3.5″ 720 x 720 pixels display. The smartphone is powered by a dual-core Krait CPU and a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon Chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 225 graphics processor.
In the photography department, there’s an 8MP autofocus camera and LED flash to do the job aided with a 2MP front-facing selfie taker. The BB Classic runs on BlackBerry 10.3.1 operating system which features BlackBerry Assistant, a virtual assistant that can set alarms, send texts and read messages via voice.
Few days ago, the BB Classic was launched globally with an SRP of $499 (roughly INR 30,800). However, in India, the BB smartphone will be sold for INR 31,990 (about $517) on Snapdeal. The e-commerce site promised to reward the first 1000 customers with an “exclusive offer”.
