Kantar: Xiaomi gaps Samsung and others even more, in China
The Apple of China aka the sweetheart of China is inflicting more injury to opponents’ already bruised egos by chopping off even more market share back home in China. Xiaomi gapped Samsung and others by a wide margin, according to data from research by Kantar Worldpanel Comtech.
During a three-month period that ended September 2014, Xiaomi held a massive 30.3 percent of the smartphone market share in China. Samsung is the next at 18.4 % while Lenovo, Huawei and Apple are the other members of the top 5.
Xiaomi recently moved into third spot for the most popular phone brands in the globe despite doing business in only a few countries outside it’s local market of China. The phone maker has plans to enter into more territories by the end of the year.
