Meet the new power king: Gionee V188 with 5200mAh battery
Have you ever wondered why your smartphone doesn’t last much under heavy usage? Answer is simple, it’s because new generation phones prefer thin bodies and thereby can only posses tiny battery capacity.
Well, Gionee V188 doesn’t want to hear any of that. First, the phone wants a real big battery plus a body your friends wouldn’t refer to as bulky — the 5″ IPS smartphone with HD resolution holds a gigantic 5200mAh battery inside it’s 10.4mm-thick body. That’s pretty commendable even as the phone weighs 182 grams.
The phone outweighs THL’s T5000 Ultraphone which comes with a 5000mAh battery in terms of battery juice though the latter comes a tad bit thinner at 8.9mm.
The V188 is powered by a MediaTek SoC with 12.2GHz quad-core CPU. The phone further packs a gig of RAM and a microSD expandable 8GB of internal storage.
Gionee prefers to run the older Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system on it’s new phones for reasons best known to them and this device isn’t an exception. The Chinese company also employed an 8MP rear and a 2MP secondary camera for the photography job for this smartphone.
Well, this phone is not some iPhone 6 or a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 so don’t expect a proper launch to be held in respect. However, the price of the phone will be relayed to you once it’s official, plus the product be available in China at least and Chinese phones can be easily imported anywhere in the world with the help of e-commerce sites like our partner GearBest.com (check the network bands to make sure they work with your local carrier before buying).
