Meizu MX4 Pro unveiled: all beast and no Ubuntu
In the hardware department, Meizu allowed the MX4 Pro to live up to it’s dream. With a 5.5-inch display with 1536 x 2560 pixels resolution, the device has a massive screen DPI of 546 PPI which hardly any eye can resist.
Powering the smartphone is 3GB of RAM alongside an Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset which has a 64-bit CPU — quad-core 2GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A7, and also a Mali-T628 GPU. In terms of storage the MX4 Pro comes in three options namely, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
For photography, Meizu MX4 Pro has a 20.7MP Sony camera which can do 4K video recording at the backside with a dual-tone LED flash. It houses a 5MP selfie unit and the front.
The aluminum/magnesium body of the MX4 Pro measures 150.1 x 77 x 9 mm and tips the scale at 158 grams. Coming in white, gold and gray flavors, the smartphone will go on sale in China this December starting at $410 for the 32GB model.
Finally, despite the disappointment, all hope is not gone for Ubuntu fans out there who will love to see a smartphone on the Ubuntu platform. Per Meizu tradition, another variant of this MX4 Pro can still go on sale later in time.
