Micromax launches Yu Jyuice powerbanks in India
Few months ago, Micromax registered a new mobile company named Yu. While Micromax still stayed very much active in the affordable smartphone sector, Yu’s role was to sell devices using Xiaomi’s flash sales model. Microsoft also made sure Yu smartphones are optimized with heavily customized UIs just like Xiaomi smartphones.
In a bid to keep up with the game, Yu has walked Xiaomi’s path once again and introduced 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh powerbanks today. It won’t come as much surprise if the company decides to release smart bands and other accessories in coming months since Xiaomi who plays the character of a role model here is already doing that.
Taking a look at the Yu Jyuice powerbanks that were unveiled in India today, it’s obvious the gadgets have come to compete, and very aggressively at that. The Jyuice 5000mAh powerbank is priced INR 699 ($11) while Jyuice 10000mAh goes for INR 1,099 ($17).
Xiaomi sells its 5,200mAh power bank for 699 while the Chinese company’s 16,000mAh juice pack is priced at INR 1,399 ($21). It will be interesting to see these two brands battle it out for consumers as competitive price slashes are expected in both camps in coming months hence handing the ultimate win to the end user.
