Microsoft is reportedly prepping metal phone that won’t break your wallet
On Tuesday, the trio of the Lumia 950, 950 XL and 550 are all going to file out on stage at Microsoft’s press event in New York City. While the 550 is a supposedly low end smartphone, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are like…the state of the art flagships of all Windows mobile industry. The two smartphones are so top range that hardly any handset in the Windows realm could challenge their specs profile this year.
Despite their awesomeness, Microsoft still isn’t satisfied with its portfolio this year. The software company is intending to roll out another high end Windows smartphone right after the Lumia 950 duo break cover tomorrow. The exact launch date of the new device isn’t known but wmpoweruser reports that this handset will feature an “affordable” pricing despite having flagship features.
Complementing the story, the picture of the still unnamed handset shows the device cladded in what appears to look like a metal body (you can even see the camera lines running across the casing material (typical of metal casings)).
In a different albeit similar development, a picture of the mystery device was spotted on Microsoft site where big M was talking about its virtual assistant, Cortana. You can see the woman in the picture holding perfectly the same phone as the one posted by wmpoweruser above. This doesn’t look like a coincidence as we are very sure that Microsoft is trying to pass a message here. Whatever message they are trying to pass to us is not yet familiar but we’ll certainly get to the root of the matter as time goes by.
