Nokia Moonraker: a promise that never was
We’ve heard about it alright, but never really had the chance to know how it looked like – until now.
We’re talking about the Moonraker smartwatch developed by Nokia which never made it to the mainstream and remained a mere rumor and mystery to the rest of the tech world. Microsoft, who now calls the shots when it comes to Nokia’s hardware business, shelved the Moonraker for good to give more focus on the hybrid Band.
Images of the Moonraker surfaced recently after materials for its marketing were discovered posted on Tumblr. The slick, eye-catching smartwatch comes with features standard to devices of its kind like swappable watch faces, notifications, activity-tracking, Facebook and MixRadio support, and online radio service. There’s really not much we can tell you about the Moonraker mainly because of its very brief exposure, so let’s just go ahead and feast on some images of what could have been Microsoft’s smartwatch.
