We are not closing down ChatOn, Samsung cries out
Rumors erupting from the mobile industry earlier this week had it that Samsung was closing down it’s ChatOn service, a cross-platform social network that was first launched in 2011. And now, the tech outfit tells a story of how the reports were misleading, and that it has no plans to shut sown the app.
When contacted by The Verge, Samsung sent an e-mail narrating that ChatOn will live on despite all the gossip. “The recent rumors concerning ChatOn have been false, as ChatOn will continue to be offered to consumers worldwide,” the e-mail read.
Information contained by a report published by Korean Times on Tuesday suggests that the world’s most popular mobile phone vendor, Samsung Mobile, will shut down the app. Samsung is cutting down the number of smartphones it will produce in 2015 to maximize revenue but it looks the Korean company won’t touch any of it’s services just yet.
