OnePlus Mini confirmed by Amazon
Following rumors surrounding a “smaller smartphone” by Chinese tech start-up OnePlus, a bucketload of information was discovered on e shopping site Amazon about the yet-to-be-released smartphone.
A listing of the unannounced smartphone was found on Amazon India revealing most of the details of the supposed third OnePlus handset. The listing was pulled down few minutes after it was discovered but the eager eyes of the media was able to sight the webpage during its short-lived presence.
The OnePlus Mini, according to the Amazon listing, has a 5-inch 1080p display with a PPI of 441 (same as the Samsung Galaxy S4 which was a “big” smartphone at its release in 2013). The touchscreen display is covered by the all popular and rugged protection provided by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 technology.
Interestingly, the OnePlus Mini will be powered by a MediaTek chipset — a 64-bit LTE-equipped MT6795 SoC at that. The processor will be clubbed with 2GB of RAM and a Li-Ion battery rated at 2,450mAh capacity.
For software, the Mini will be running on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow, completely re-skinned with OnePlus’ in-house Oxygen OS user interface. Details of the device’s camera was not attached to the listing in case you are wondering, however, keep in mind that the OnePlus Mini is fast nearing release because that’s what this particular incident (the appearance at an e-commerce site) hints at.
