Oppo R7 isn’t what you were expecting
If you read about Oppo’s ‘bezeless’ smartphone a few weeks ago, you should definitely be disappointed by this piece of news as it turns out the phone isn’t actually what we were expecting. Why? It’s because the ‘bezeless’ smartphone received electronic certification in China today and the real thing was exposed.
Earlier reports carried a picture of a prototype of the Oppo R7 smiling for the camera, void of bezels on the two sides. Well, the bad news is that the end product of Oppo R7c, alongside another variant called Oppo R7t were today listed at TEENA and the pictures show that the R7 isn’t as bezeless as we thought, not even close — or maybe Oppo R7 itself could entirely be different.
The specs listed for both phones were a 5-inch 1080p 2.5D display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB storage, 13MP/8MP camera duo, 2320mAh battery cell and Android 4.4 KitKat for software.
The only clear difference between the two models is that the R7c was carrying a China Mobile-friendly CPU aka MediaTek MT6752 (with a 1.7GHz octa-core CPU) while the other version (R7t) has a 164-bit Snapdragon 615 processor for full time support for China Telecom.
While these two variants show us what could be expected of the Oppo R7 itself, we will just be hoping the R7 is a different device altogether (at least in design) in order not to dash our budding hope for a bezeless smartphone from China.
The Oppo R7 is expected to be unveiled on the 20th of May.
