Oppo R7 and R7 Plus with 2.5D glass outed, cost $400 and $480
So, finally, here we are. Oppo’s much anticipated battleships are here at long last. The duo of Oppo R7 and phablet Oppo R7 Plus just got unveiled in China and we’ll feed you all the scoop after the break.
Packing a 5-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 2.5D-structured glass, the Oppo R7 is quite thin but not as sleek as it’s predecessor, the R5 — which came with a 4.85mm-slim body and was the world’s thinnest smartphone as at launch. Nonetheless, the Oppo R7 measures 143 x 71 x 6.3 mm and weighs 147 grams. The 1080p resolution of the screen gives the phone a 441 PPI.
The Oppo R7 comes with a 2320mAh battery with VOOC charging capability. The handset comes with two SIM card slots — one is for a nano SIM and the other one doubles for a microSD card slot when the second micro SIM is not inserted.
Oppo R7 Plus
Apart from it’s bigger sizing, the Oppo R7 Plus distances itself as the premium model with a fingerprint ID sensor at the the back, placed just under the centered primary camera and LED flash. The Plus measures 158 x 82 x 7.8 mm and pushes the scale down by 203 grams. The phone’s 6-inch 1080p Gorilla Glass 3-proctected touchscreen covers 76.6% of the entire front.
To make up for all that display load, Oppo stashed a 4,100mAh battery inside the R7 Plus so you don’t have to worry about energy juice throughout the whole day with a single full charge.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC inside the two R7 models. The Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus use 3GB of RAM and feature 128GB microSD card slots but the 32GB in-built storage on the Plus is twice greater than the 16GB memory found on the R7.
Coming to the camera, a similar 13-megapixel rear camera powers the photography prowess of the two phones. Their fronts are also equipped, by an 8-megapixel shooter. Both smartphones are running on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Color OS 2.1 UI icing.
