Samsung Galaxy A8 is official, slimmest Samsung phone ever
Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy A8, a smartphone with many striking physical similarities with the Korean phone maker’s Galaxy S6 flagship.
Sporting a 5.7″ 1080p Super AMOLED touchscreen display in a metal housing which measures 158 x 76.8 x 5.9 mm, the new phone is the slimmest Galaxy smartphone you can avail. To top it off, it comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the home key and runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop platform.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A8 is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC and 2GB of RAM alongside 16GB or 32GB storage (depending on the configuration) but you’ll get a 128GB microSD card slot (which can serve as a second nano SIM slot) on the two versions.
For connectivity, the handset features LTE, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wireless LAN, all backed by a 3,050 mAh battery.
Samsung hasn’t announced a release date for the device neither do we know anything about the pricing; however, we expect these details to start dripping in the coming weeks.
