Samsung Galaxy A8 specs outed on benchmark platform
As you may have heard, Samsung has commenced work on the next set of Galaxy A smartphones. From the look of things, it seems the Samsung Galaxy A8 will be hitting the shelves before any other 2nd-gen Galaxy A device.
A GFXBench entry discovered on Thursday was found to have been entered with the upcoming phone’s codename (Samsung SM-A8000) hinting that engineers at Samsung are already running several tests on the device.
Contrary to earlier reports that we are going to see a 5.7″ display, the benchmark document notes the display on the Galaxy A8 as a 5.5-incher with 1080p resolution. The handset was running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop during the test while the CPU was being powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC. There’s also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage on the device.
Also according to the listing, the Samsung SM-A8000/Galaxy A8 will pack a 16-megapixel rear camera as well as a selfie-taking 5MP shooter up front. We know not when the real thing will eventually get unveiled officially but we do hope to keep you up to date as events unfold.
