Samsung Galaxy Note 5 announcement countdown: It’s all going down today
As the industry stands still to witness the duo of Samsung Galaxy Note and its champered Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ mate get announced today, BestMobs will cover all the happenings live. The Samsung Unpacked event kicks off by 4:00 PM GMT+1 so stay tuned for all the action and gist.
For now let’s talk about what we know about the two phones:
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The Samsung Galaxy Note is known as the king of phablets. In fact, the Note is one of the first large screen smartphones that came out. The 5th generation Galaxy Note is expected to pack a 5.7-inch (actually 5.66 inches) Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display.
For power, the device is going to enjoy an ample 4GB of RAM and a Samsung-made Exynos 7420 SoC which houses a big.LITTLE CPU architecture comprising of two sets of quad-core CPU clocked at 2.1GHz and 1.5GHz speed respectively. There’s a 16-megapixel rear camera and 5MP front facer.
The smartphone will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but popular leakstar Evan Blass says that there will be no storage space for expansion; however, another report states that the dual SIM Note 5 will pack a microSD card slot which is yet to be confirmed.
As expected, the Note 5 is packing a (digital?) stylus pen. There’s no sight of microUSB type-C port in leaked photos we saw instead, the device will be using the regular microUSB that we all know.
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+
The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is no newbie to this phone review website. The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is a larger reincarnation of the former that comes with larger screen, larger battery and somehow, larger power.
The Galaxy S6 edge+ is believed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 — the same processor that powers the LG G4. There’s a 3,000mAh battery backing the device while 4GB of RAM and 32GB of in-built storage complete the list of details we know about the S6 edge+ for now.
Let’s wait to find out the rest by 4PM.
