Samsung Galaxy S4 sales decline into the obvious
Research analysts Counterpoint have reported a huge decline in the sales of Samsung Galaxy S4 for the month of August 2013.
5 million was the number of Galaxy S4 units sold by Samsung in August against 7 million that was sold in July. The decline however was expected, as customers were looking out to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and other new phones launched in September.
The full list of top ten selling phones in August 2013 are as follows:
- Samsung Galaxy S4 International version
- Apple iPhone 5-16GB
- Apple iPhone 5-32GB
- Nokia Asha 501
- Samsung Galaxy Note II
- Samsung Galaxy S III mini
- Samsung Galaxy S III
- Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini I9190
- Nokia Asha 205
- Nokia 105
The Samsung Galaxy S4 managed to hold on to the top of the list despite the decline. Still yet Samsung has nothing to worry about as four other devices of their managed to make the top ten. The iPhone 5 came second and third with the 16GB and 32GB models representing the former Apple flagship phone that was replaced in September by the iPhone 5S. Nokia held the 4th and 9th spot with Asha 501 and 205 respectively while the $30-priced Nokia 105, with strong sales in developing countries like Nigeria, unsurprisingly came 10th.
