Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 gets too rugged
The first and second generations of the Galaxy Xcover were known for their tough builds and now, Samsung has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 — a smartphone that shrugs off water, dust and even falling on the ground.
The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 is IP67 certified – dust and water resistant, lasting 1 meter deep in H2o for up to 30 minutes. But it doesn’t stop there. The device is MIL-STD-810G certified — making it salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistant.
The Galaxy Xcover 3 has a screen; Yes, a 4.5-inch touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 1.5GB of RAM keeping the internals as beefed up as the outside. In terms of software, the device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat even though Samsung has promised to deliver it to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
For photography, the handset uses a 5-megapixel shooter and LED flash at the back while a 2MP selfie taker sits at the front. Other features of the smartphone includes LTE connectivity, an altimeter, compass, GPS, NFC and Samsung’s KNOX security.
