Vivo X5 Pro announced with 5.2″ Super AMOLED 2.5D glass and iris scanner
Chinese phone maker Vivo has quietly unveiled their much anticipated Vivo X5 Pro this morning, reports PhoneArena.
The Vivo X5 Pro is the company’s first experiment of 2.5D glass though you can still see a good amount of side bezels surrounding the screen’s sides unlike in the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge were the 2.5D glass virtually overlaps the entire front sideways.
The display on the X5 Pro is a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC and 2GB RAM. There’s a 13MP camera; an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie taker is positioned above the screen, ready to produce 32MP pictures by the wonderful interpolation technology. Additionally, the handset features an iris scanner which wasn’t explained in the intro video. We hope to keep you updated on how the scanner works in the next coming days.
Finally, the device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with a 2,300mAh battery keeping the lights on. As for pricing, a unit of the Vivo X5 Pro will set you back $443 in China.
