Xiaomi Mi 4c coming with USB type-C, infrared
Even as stories of the arrival of their new generation Mi 5 are gaining momentum, Chinese phone maker Xiaomi will still have enough time to chip in another variant of their 2014-released Mi 4 flagship before the introduction of the former.
The Xiaomi Mi 4c was certified by Chinese authorities not long ago featuring a 5-inch 1080p display and 2GB/16GB of RAM/ROM combo. However, new reports suggest that the smartphone will arrive with an infrared port for TV remote control as well as a USB type-C connecting port.
Instead of a quad-core Snapdragon 801 powering the regular Xiaomi Mi 4, the Mi 4c will house a 64 bit-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset under the hood, the Chinese certification documents revealed.
In the latest development, latest reports coming out from China suggest the 4c will pack a $200 price tag but a higher variant — complete with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage — will retail a tad bit north at $220. Both models do not offer memory expansion. The same sources claim that the 4c might be launched on September 22nd.
