Xiaomi Mi 6 to be announced in February, launched for sale in March
Yesterday, more than one report came out of China on the subject of the yet to be released Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone and of all of these, even though they confirmed some of the pieces of information on the device, they also did well to confuse us on some pieces of information, specifically when we should be expecting the unit to launch. While one source was sure that the 14th of February has been picked by the company for the official unveiling of their next flagship, other sources cold argue that the date was sometimes in April.
One day later, here we are and we have reasons to believe another date again. According to a new rumour, the Xiaomi Mi 6 would be unveiled at a Xiaomi event on the 6th of February and sales would begin sometimes in March. The previous report that suggested that the launch date would be pushed to April attributed the delay to the inability of Samsung to create enough Snapdragon 835 chipsets to meet the production of the MI 6.
Given that this is the same chipset expected to debut on the Galaxy S8 also, it can be understood that low production rates can affect smartphone rollouts in the same time frame.
