Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 live renders pop out before official announcement
Xiaomi is going to unveil the Redmi Note 2 on Wednesday but before that, our curiosity and luck led us to leaked hands-on photos of the upcoming smartphone.
Judging from the pictures, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 appears to be boxed in a plastic casing just like its predecessor, the first Xiaomi Redmi Note. Appearing in white, a few changes have surfaced in the design of the new phone but the original Redmi Note design blueprint still prevailed as expected.
For example, the phone’s camera and flash have both gotten rounded openings while the camera no longer protrudes from the back cover. At the front, the side bezels surrounding the screen have been reduced. The front camera and supposed light sensor have been pushed to the right side on the front speaker.
In terms of specs, the 2015 Redmi Note will come with LTE by default (Xiaomi introduced a second version of Redmi Note with 4G after the 3G-only model was released last year). Reports say that the screen properties have remained the same at 5.5 inches by 720 x 1280 pixels of resolution while the processor is now a MT6795 Helio X10 chipset and the battery has slightly smaller capacity at 3,020mAh (vs 3,200mAh).
Stay tuned as we bring you coverage of Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and MIUI 7 announcements tomorrow.
