Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 pictured, will debut on August 13
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note for sure has been a popular favorite with buyers over the course of last year; nonetheless, it’s been over a year since its release and about time the smartphone gets updated, however, Xiaomi doesn’t appear to be in haste in doing that.
Today, we got a new round of gist about the upcoming Redmi Note 2. The Redmi Note successor was spotted in a couple of pictures that made their way from China this morning.
While the first screenshot speaks for itself, the second photo shows a box where the MIUI-powered smartphone will be sold in after its debut on August 13 — yes, we were told that Xiaomi is planning a grand unveiling for the second Redmi Note on Wednesday.
The Note 2 purportedly has a 5.5-inch 1080p display — up from the 5.5 720p found on its predecessor. According to reports, the phone’s 16GB storage is non-expandable and we keep wondering how many pictures it can contain from the 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel selfie front camera.
Finally, the Xiomi Redmi 2 will be packing a 3100mAh battery cell while weighing a total of 159 grams. The device will measure 8.05mm thin and will be running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS skinned with MIUI 7, Xiaomi’s proprietary user interface that will get unveiled on that same day (Wednesday).
