100K Tizen-running Samsung Z1 smartphones sold in first month
Samsung has reportedly sold over 100,000 units of the company’s first Tizen-powered smartphone, the Samsung Z1. Being the first-ever Tizen phone to be launched, the Z1 is naturally a success story judging how the Tizen OS is still a very young platform.
At the end of last month, we received information that the Z1 had reached 50k in sales and that was the first 10 days of the phone’s availability in the market. So from the beginning of February till now, it means Samsung had sold another 50k Tizen smartphones in barely 15 days.
The Samsung Z1 is available just in two markets namely India and Bangladesh priced INR 5,700 and BDT 6,900 in the two countries respectively. Samsung is expected to launch the budget handset in several other markets before the end of this year.
