5″ Gionee GN715 released in China with KitKat
Dubbed the Gionee GN715, this new smartphone boots Android 4.4 KitKat operating system directly out of the box. For it’s display, the device uses an IPS touchscreen that measures 5 inches diagonal, with a depth of 720p.
Running in the core of the GN715 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 chipset which features a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU and Adreno 305 graphics. However, the device also has 1GB of RAM and an expandable storage of 4GB. Finally, the hardware is completed by a 2000mAh battery which is user replaceable.
On connectivity, Gionee used a single SIM slot for the device. Then there’s 3G, Edge and FDD-LTE, and of course Bluetooth, Wireless LAN and A-GPS makes up for the rest.
The Gionee GN715 is priced at CNY 1,699, that’s just a little north of USD $270 and that’s about the price the smartphone will be retailed if it is ever going to make it outside of China.
