Against all odds, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S slates start to get Marshmallow update
Last month, the Netherlands arm of Samsung mobile made it known via their official Facebook page that there would not be the Android 6.0 Marshmallow support for the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5, meaning that these ones would just be able to run the Lollipop 5.0.2 from now till as long as they stay on the market for.
While this is a very heart-breaking claim to make, someone has reported that this is not the case with them as they have been able to update their own Wi-Fi only variant of the 8.4 inches Tab S slates to the Marshmallow platform, and this was done officially too.
According to the source of this information, the update is very heavy at 900MB and despite the claims from Samsung Netherlands, we have already seen proof earlier this year in form of a GeekBench test that showed that these slates were being tested for the big M.
Bringing improved app permissions and the Google Now on Tap, this update packs alongside with it everything that you would normally see on a Marshmallow 6.0.1 device so if you own any one of the units of this smartphone, just wait for your own notification to also pop up.
