Amazon expected to ship 3 million Fire Phones in 6 months
Amazon Fire Phone’s announcement has come and gone, and so has the hype surrounding it.
While many of us might be wondering how the smartphone will turn out in terms of sales numbers, a report right from Foxconn’s Taiwanese manufacturing plant — where the Fire Phone is being manufactured — says that Amazon has ordered about 3 million units for this year alone.
Amazon is expected to ship 2 million to 3 million units of the phones this year alone, our source says. That’s about 300,000 to 500,000 phones per month.
It’s still early to jump into conclusions, we might say. Amazon is currently taking up pre-orders via AT&T for the Fire Phone and the phone will start shipping on 25th July.
Until we have any numbers in hand, then we can decide if Amazon can ship 3,000,000 smartphones (or even more) this year.
