Android and Samsung winning more ground in the USA
Latest statistics from comScore shows that Samsung gained more ground in the United States Of American smartphone market, so did Android.
Holding down an average of 24.1% of the market share from April to July, Samsung added 1.3% to their possession ending the August to October 3-month period with 25.4% market share. Apple, despite having new kids on the block didn’t make a noticeable move. The release of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c was expected to give them more ground than the 0.2 percent they gained even though they are still the top smartphone vendor in the US with 40.6% market share.
Coming to mobile operating systems, Android added 0.4 to the 51.8% it had last session, Apple’s iOS improved 0.2 from the 40.4% it had last time, their total market share for the period being 40.6%. Blackberry came third with 3.6% while Windows improved to a with 3.2% share. Symbian managed to hold down 0.2% after it faded out 0.1 from the last set of three months.
