Android Nougat ported to the Moto X (2013) via Cyanogen build
There is one edge that the iOS would always have over the Android platform and that is on the issue of updates where we get timely and fast updates on the iOS powered devices but when it comes to those supported by Android, we would have to wait for ages. Also, Apple provide support to its devices, even up to the ones that are very old in the series but when it comes to Android and new rollouts, some smartphones becomes outcasts very fast, leaving them to rot at the base of drawers and under a pile of clothes.
However, some developers are not ready to stand for this and since the Nougat has already rolled out, we have seen it ported to a number of devices that were not on the official changelog and normally, wouldn’t even get it officially if they waited till eternity.
For the Moto X device from Motorola which first saw the market some three years ago, you can now get the Nougat 7.0 up and running on it if you are able to get the new CM14 that has been developed by the developers that base their works on the CyanogenMod and while this is still a work on progress, we don’t advise that you get it due to the fact that some drivers are not functional yet.
While we expect that they try to adapt the software to the device to get it working a lot better, it is still laudable that they can get the new dessert working on a very old device. If you still have the Moto X but are not using it anymore, you can try to be adventurous and just check what this one brings you on the old hardware.
