Apple iOS 8.4: Counting of profits and losses continue as Home Sharing gets axed
Apple’s latest iOS 8.4 firmware brought about some of the coolest features we’ve have seen in a while, however, with the update, Cupertino has eventfully taken away one feature that is beloved to many iOS users.
Home Sharing has been around since iOS 4.3. The feature allows iPhones, iPods and iPods to stream music from a Windows PC or Macintosh over Wi-Fi with the help of iTunes. But right now, following the introduction of Beats 1 radio station and Apple Music streaming service via iOS 8.4, the omission of the app looks more of a malicious prank than a simple error.
When we checked the Home Sharing support page, it showed that something has been added or removed from the page after iOS 8.4 release on June 30, but we are still seeing a guide on how to use the feature even though it won’t be available on devices.
All hope is not lost as we discovered that the feature is marked as “not currently available” in iOS 8.4 beta release notes. This could mean that Apple is currently working on the software and have decided to keep it off the rather for the meantime. On the other hand, this could turn out to be a final end to a feature that was once enjoyed by millions.
