Apple set to launch foray into Virtual Reality with recent job listings
With Samsung making it’s first smartwatch in 2013, it took Apple a year later to unveil it’s own in 2014, even as the Apple Watch is yet to go on sale until 2015. After Samsung made it’s first Galaxy Note, it also took Apple two years to produce it’s first phablet — the Apple iPhone 6 Plus — of which Steve Wozniak complained was long overdue.
And now, Apple doesn’t want to be left behind again. With Samsung releasing the first round of virtual reality headsets which it partnered with Oculus VR to produce in December, the pressure is now on Apple to hasten up it’s own virtual experience.
A recent job listing at Apple.com read that the Cupertino-headquartered company needs somebody to “create high performance apps that integrate with Virtual Reality systems for prototyping and user testing.” The entry has been removed since then suggesting that Apple has gotten enough applicants for the title.
Last year, Apple registered a few patents which related to virtual headsets but it’s been long since we last seen a stir on the issue. And with that being said, that’s all we have for Apple VR for now. Stay tuned for more.
