Asia Starts Receiving Marshmallow Update for HTC One M8
Looking back from December 2015, HTC announced its finalization as it finally finished testing its beta Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for all unlocked One M8 handsets and next update would be to customers shortly.
Today, Marshmallow update has finally made its way to Asian models of the HTC One M8.
6.14.707.1 Is the ROM version number, little different from the version that was released by HTC last year, suggesting some bug fix and some changes will be made on the Asian HTC one users. The update download was 1.14GB, so by looking at the file size, this download might take a while specially when you have slow internet. And according to some who have successfully made an update the installation time is around 60 minutes.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update means HTC One M8 customers can use more definable app permissions, Doze its battery optimizations, and Tap for additional display with contextualized information. And lastly the security patches have been implemented by HTC.
HTC in its pursuant to push Marshmallow updates to all its flagship handsets this year makes them still on the top list. Additional regions and carrier branded models of HTC One M8 are expected to receive similar updates this month.
