ASUS releases list of smartphones to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update
With most smartphone manufacturers releasing their Roadmaps to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update rollout, Asus has joined the league with the revelation of its plans to roll out the new update to a list of smartphones under its name. The company confirmed it’s plans to release the update on its official forum giving the list of the smartphones set to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS to include the PadFone S, ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML / ZE551ML), ZenFone Deluxe and the ZenFone Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML), All models of the ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL) and the ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL).
A leaked update list which surfaced online a couple of weeks ago suggested that Asus will be bringing the latest of its ZenFone 2 series to the fore while also claiming the smartphone company will bring the Marshmallow update in its second roll out phase to some other devices such as the ZenFone 4 ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6. The company has not officially listed or revealed any information about the second phase of its update rollout as yet.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow will feature a few improvements such as the Google Now tap feature, improved and revised application permissions, improved new ways of handling weblinks and an improved Chrome browser for better Web experience. Other new features include a ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode, new RAM manager, new app drawer, auto backup and restore for apps and USB Type-C Ports support.
The official date of release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow has not been communicated to the public as yet but hopefully soon.
