Blackberry and Paypal add “Send Money” option to BBM
While Samsung is working on Samsung Pay as Apple Pay is always there for Curpertino to boast about, Canadian phone maker BlackBerry may soon launch its own payment system within BlackBerry Messenger (BBM).
BBM users, following a partnership between BlackBerry and Paypal, will be able to initiate and process payments without leaving the social networking app.
PayPal’s Matt Gromada, Director of Consumer Product Marketing at the company, has this to say:
“People don’t have to leave BBM to send a photo or file. So, why should they have to with money? – Pay and get paid in the moment, right in your BBM conversations, using your mobile device.”
“We are rolling out the beta experience starting with select users in Canada, with more countries to follow shortly. Stay tuned for details on the roll out,” he added.
