BlackBerry Venice shows up in video, could come in two types
Just like old wine, the good ol’ BlackBerry is making something out of a combo of new software and experienced hardware. With Android powering over half of running mobile phones on planet earth right now, the Canadians have employed the sometimes handy tactics of ‘if you can’t beat them you join them,’ ditching its not-so-popular BBOS for a taste of something with Android inside: the BlackBerry Venice.
BlackBerry Venice is rumored to be coming with a 5.5-inch QHD (1440 by 2560 pixels) touchscreen, an 18-megapixel rear camera (possibly with OIS) and 5-megapixel front-facing selfie taker. From the torrent of leaked photographs that have stormed the Internet in the past few weeks, the Venice was seen having a screen that slides up to reveal a hardware QWERTY keyboard underneath. Still going by the leaks, the screen itself is exceptional with 2.5D architecture that makes the glass curve down to both sides.
Finally, the BB Venice (not final name) could come in two variants — as a leaked promo video we found on Twitter this morning hinted (the playback showed off two devices). If this is true, what are the differences between the two; our budding curiosity demands. We’ve already learnt that Venice will use a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808. Could it be that the second model has a different CPU, or will be booting on something else, like a full-blown BBOS?
