You can enable your iPhone 6s to use a microSD card: how?
One thing Apple customers have missed over the years is the presence of expandable storage on their beloved iDevices. While Samsung, HTC, LG and other Android brands have smartphones that provide users the comfort of making use of additional storage without breaking a sweat via the ever flexible memory card system, iPhones and iPads provide fixed storage capacity that can’t be altered upwards.
To tackle this issue, a start-up named Leef has introduced a system it calls iAccess, “an iOS accessory for on-the-fly transfer of videos, photos & other content between devices.” What iAccess does is to provide an adapter for a microSD card on your iPhone, allowing you to browse the content of the storage disk via the host iPhone. The product could basically equip your 16GB iPhone 6s with a giant storage capacity that the 128GB iPhone 6s model can only be jealous of — but that’s only if you don’t mind the extra space the gadget occupies. The product itself is priced $49.99 and it doesn’t come with a microSD card.
“Leef iAccess is all about the on-the-fly transfer of content from GoPros, drones or cameras to iOS devices,” said David Smurthwaite, partner at Leef. “To date, the other solution for transferring content has been WiFi or Bluetooth, which are klunky and slow. Leef products are unique, making transfers much quicker and easier without worrying about connectivity or cables.”
The press release then read:
Leef iAccess is one of the first memory accessories compatible with both iPhones/iPads and microSD cards. Using a compatible iOS Lightning Port and Leef’s proprietary MobileMemory app, iAccess moves videos, photos, music files, and documents from any device with a microSD card to an iPhone or iPad for viewing, saving, sharing or sending.
