China: We didn’t ban Apple products
China has come out to say that it didn’t ban any government agency or agencies from Apple products. Last week reports of Apple being shoved out of the Chinese leadership circle overwhelmed the news section of the Internet.
“The confusion was a result of Apple products, including computers and iPads, removal from a Government list of approved devices. However, it turns out that Apple had never applied to be on the Chinese Government’s list of approved devices to begin with.” GSMArena wrote.
“Even though Apple has the certification for energy-saving products… it has never provided the necessary verification material and agreements according to the regulations,” – a Finance Ministry representative said.
Chinese Government workers are still allowed to buy and use Apple products for personal use while the announcement means that government structures can still employ Apple products for official use.
