Chinese-made Doogee Y100 Pro goes on sale, costs $120
It’s no news that several hundreds if not thousands of Chinese gadgets find their way into the market every single month, however, one device that caught our attention this week is the Android 5.1 Lollipop-powered Y100 Pro from Doogee.
Fully known as the Doogee Valencia 2 Y100 Pro, the handset sports a neat 5-inch 2.5D touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels of resolution. There’s a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera sensor and LED flash while a hardly noticeable 8MP secondary sensor is encrusted right beside the front speaker just for taking selfies.
Under the hood, you’ll find a 64 bit MediaTek MT6735 SoC with quad-core CPU clocked a 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage which is expandable via the phone’s microSD card slot found under the removable back cover.
Speaking of casing, the Y100 Pro is covered by a plastic-clad “uni body” which features a rather fatty 9.4 mm thickness — when judged by today’s standards. The whole unit is backed by a Li-Ion battery with 2200mAh capacity. The phone supports FDD LTE, 3G, and EDGE as well as Bluetooth and GPS while Android 5.1 Lollipop is running the software chapter.
The newly unveiled Doogee Y100 Pro is currently available on pre sale at Gearbest. The retailer seems to be offering some kind of discount when you get the smartphone on pre order and the current price of $119.99 will shift a little north when the pre sale period comes to an end on July 2nd.
