Developer finds a way to get the Daydream VR compatible with Nexus 5X
When Google made the announcement, and launch of their new devices in the market – talking about the Pixel and Pixel XL that we have seen launch this year – they also provided us with a new kind of technology that they have been working on in the sector of virtual reality and with that, we were well pleased. Named Daydream, this was Google’s own VR concept and they made sure that the technology would be able to run on both Pixels as at the time of launch, giving customers another push on why they need to go the way of these devices.
In theory, it is believed that any and all devices that have been bumped to the latest Android platform- the Nougat 7.0 – should be able to process and read data from this Google’s VR introduction but that is not the case and some are still lagging behind, mainly due to the fact that there were some special modifications made to the Pixels to allow them tap into this kind of resource. However, the fact that the Android platform is very open source and allow developers play around has reared its good head again because a developer has found a way to make the VR tech work on a Nexus 5X unit.
In simple terms, what you would need to do is to manipulate the file by changing some permissions on the installed Google’s VR services and we don’t need to tell you that you would need to root your handset for this. After this, you would be easily able to pop your technology into the VR mode.
