Early LG G4 rumors are here: May 2014 release date, sapphire display and Snapdragon 810 chip
While it’s still early to hold gossip about a phone that will be released in far away middle of next year, an insider claimed he knows what LG is planning about the LG G3 successor.
The source says LG is planning to use sapphire glass for the screen of the LG G4, though there wasn’t any specific mention of the size. The upcoming phone will be powered by the all-powerful Snapdragon 810 processor by Qualcomm, which is yet to be used in any smartphone in the market currently.
The Snapdragon 810 is a 64-bit system-on Chip that is built on a 20nm process. It sure adds to the phone’s thinness, but that’s not more important than the battery life which it improves by a great margin. The hexa-core CPU –- two Cortex-A57 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores — on the processor allows for 30 % better performance than what the current Snapdragon 800 offers.
Finally, the LG G4 will be out in May 2015, our source tells us. Reports like this aren’t to be taken serious as even if they are 100% legit, the company still has a long time till the D-day and a lot of things could be changed along the way.
