Entry-level Oppo Neo 7 goes official with 5″ qHD screen
Chinese phone maker Oppo Electronics has today taken to the scene to unveil a brand new budget smartphone dubbed the Oppo Neo 7. In the recent weeks, Oppo had severally made the headlines as it banked on the fast approaching shopping season to unveil the Oppo R7s and is prepping to unleash a yet mightier Oppo device named Oppo R7s Plus.
Speaking of the latest Oppo smartphone — the entry-level Oppo Neo 7, the spanking new 5″ Android smartphone sports a qHD resolution (540 pixels by 960 pixels precisely), summing it to a PPI of 220 pixel density.
Under the hood, the handset’s engine is rocked by a 64 bit-based Qualcomm-made Snapdragon 410 chipset clubbed with a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage — all backed by a 2,420mAh battery unit.
In the camera department, the Neo 7 is featuring an 8-megapixel rear-facing primary camera with LED flash. The opposite side holds a 5-megapixel sensor for taking selfies and the phone’s display will turn white to serve as camera lightening when clicking the front camera.
Albeit not disclosing any pricing information yet, Oppo says there will be US and Indian versions of the device as well as an international variant. The product will hit the shelves in India on October 28 while selected markets across South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East and North Africa (Mexico too) are expected to follow suit in coming weeks.
