Evan Blass: Venice will hit the market as Blackberry Priv
BlackBerry’s upcoming Android smartphone, Venice, has had its fair share of popularity in the newsstands, thanks to its prestigious profile as the first BlackBerry-made smartphone that will be powered by Google’s Android operating system.
According to a tip by tech veteran Evan Blass, Venice won’t be printed on the retail box of the yet-to-be-officialy-announced BB Android smartphone. Blass alleges that the Canadian phone maker has chosen to dub the smartphone as “Blackberry Priv” instead, but didn’t confirm if this was a new idea or whether the naming has been on cards all through the time (yours sincerly perceived Venice as a camouflage/codename from day 1).
Even though names may sound more or less appealing when compared to each other, the new name tag doesn’t change the fact that BlackBerry Vencie/BlackBerry Priz is expected to come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD touchscreen, 18-megapixel camera with OIS and dual LED flash, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The actual launch date of the device isn’t known yet and even the daredevil leakstar Evan Blass wouldn’t guess; however, one thing we are certain of is that BlackBerry will launch an Android smartphone sooner or later.
