Existence of Xiaomi Mi 5s denied, might be launched as the Mi Note 5 instead
We have been talking about a new flagship device which would be coming from the stables of Xiaomi for a while now and even though we have passed along specs, leaked images and other relevant information about what we have thought to be the Mi 5S, a recent turn of events has suggested that we might have been rolling in the deep of ignorance all along.
There was an inquiry placed on a social media platform in China and from the response generated from there, the company has stated that there is no device called the 5S in the making.
While there is the possibility of getting ourselves a Mi Note 5 instead of the Mi 5s, we should remember that there has been another report on another social media platform of the possibility of a Mi 5S and according to this one, there would be variants of the smartphone – the smaller 6GB/64GB variant would be sold at an equivalent of $299, a medium 6GB/128GB variant would go for $345 and the largest one having 6GB/256GB would sell for $405.
For now, the best thing is to wait for a conclusive post from the company or better still, a formal launch.
