Frenemy: Samsung agrees to power Apple iPhone 6S RAM
Earlier today, we reported how Apple was tapping professionals from Samsung’s work field. Though this, of course, didn’t go down well with the Koreans but there was little or no grudges coming from the Samsung camp, otherwise yu could have seen another classic “wall hugger”-type of commercial — trust me, the Koreans know how to troll.
Moving forward, both companies have put everything to rest as they look forward to new beginnings. In a recent development, Samsung has penned down a deal to supply DDR4 RAM, made with the 20nm process, for the next Apple iPhone 6S and the LG G4.
“Under the agreement, Samsung will start providing LG Electronics with 100 percent mobile DRAM chips it needs for LG G4 smartphone, which will be unveiled in April. Also, Samsung will handle at least half of the amount that Apple needs for its new iPhone ― tentatively named iPhone 6S,”an industry insider noted.
Earlier reports made us know that Samsung is also going to be responsible for at least 70 % of the A9 chipsets that are going to be used in this year’s Apple mobile device. It boggles the mind so much that these two work hand in hand even as there are many differences to settle.
